I agree, but disagree. Todays world has come with Many a Foot Stompin approach to solutions to objections. That you feel you can dictate what a person puts on their own website and feel that it's not the place to put it is a little extreme. First off, he does offer a product, however for free. If you knew 1/2 of what your friends, family, business associates or companies you work for did, supported or believed in, you would probably disassociate with 1/2 of them. But, most people accept that of people and regard it as trivial or unimportant.
Now, do I agree with his stand on the incident? Not really. But if he's man enough to put the banner out there, then I'm sure I will find out if he's man enough to engage in the debate over the incident. See the Middle East, especially Israel, Gaza and Palestine, have been at odds for hundreds/thousands of years. Each trying to protect and keep their interest in those areas. Is one side right and the other one wrong in their pursuit? No. It's a matter of coming up with a peaceable, equal solution or divide.
There have been sanctions and restrictions entering certain areas in the region. Passing through those waters have high restrictions and those restrictions were met with forced entry. Was it violent or combative? No. However, in the middle of the night, the occupants of the flotilla were using non-violent agitations to prevent the Israeli army from boarding the ship for inspection and control. It's the same as someone who were to break through a secure check point between two countries such as France and Spain. If you were to take water cannons to guards and try to pass through without stopping and ignoring them, you might meet up with the same fate.
Are the sanctions and restrictions proper for the area in question? I can't answer that. I don't follow the Ever Changing situation there close enough. I do know though, that forcible entry into restricted areas, whether it be land or sea, can be enforced. If there are objections to those restrictions, it's not up to The Public to contest them in a face to face confrontation such as the flotilla organizers took. Especially in a highly volatile region such as that.
Remember this. The Israeli's didn't go out to sea searching for someone to pick on or harass. They were standing their ground on a UN backed Line drawn in the water.
Back to the beginning. Americans get along with the Egytians, Israelis, Saudis etc and vise versa for the most part. However, there are some pretty huge fundamental differences between ALL of those cultures and traditions. So why throw the Baby out with the Bath Water is my question. We are going through our political campaigns right now and people are condemning each other over such trivial things such as this mans banner on his page.
For example, a Corporation made a financial contribution, $150,000 US to a candidate for our governor and a local group who receives as much if not more through contributions from the same corporation have taken up the fight against the company. The subject is not about Capital Punishment, or Abortion or of any type of Life or Death issue. But the group would really like to see the demise of the company and has called on a Nationwide Boycott of the company.
The owner of this site has put a tasteful banner expressing his opinion of what happened. I don't see and epithets or durogatory references towards anyone. Get over it and Accept the fact that not everyone shares the same views or opinions as you. If we all did, then this would be a pretty boring planet to live on. And remember, this is a FREE site where you got a pretty good component FREE to help out your sites functionality. He can't be too bad of a guy.
